An entertainment wall is the single most-viewed surface in your home. Done well, it elevates the room. Done badly, it pulls the room down. This guide walks through every decision.
1. TV size and viewing distance
Multiply your viewing distance in feet by 7 to get the ideal TV diagonal in inches. A 10ft viewing distance suggests a 70" TV — give or take.
2. Mount type
Fixed for the cleanest look. Tilt if the TV is high. Full-motion if the room has multiple viewing positions.
3. Wall material
Acoustic slats absorb echo, marble adds drama, WPC adds warmth. Most luxury walls combine two.
4. Cable management
In-wall conduit between the TV mount and the AV components is non-negotiable for a clean look.
5. Lighting
Backlit LED strips behind slats reduce eye fatigue and create cinema mood.
6. Soundbar integration
Recess the soundbar into the panel for a flush look, or float it on a shelf below.
7. Future-proofing
Use standard VESA mounts so future TVs drop in. Run extra conduit.
